2009 Cavite Cooperative Month Celebration

The Provincial Government of Cavite led by Gov. Ayong S. Maliksi  celebrates the 2009 Cavite Cooperative Month with the theme: ”Kooperatiba: Tugon sa Pandaigdigang Kagipitan, Kaagapay sa Kaunlaran” this month.   The opening program that was held on October 5, 2009 during the flag raising ceremony at the Capitol grounds was spearheaded by Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC).  The celebration was graced by Senators Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas as Keynote Speakers.  These two (2) dynamic Senators enormously supports the cooperative activities and movements in our country.  The celebration was also attended by 3rd District Cavite Congressman Abaya and Congresswoman Riza Hontiveros.

 

The presence of almost two thousand active cooperative members all over Cavite has likewise added color to the successful celebration of the 2009 Cavite Cooperative Month.The PCDC lined up various activities after the opening salvo such as conferences/lectures on cooperatives with speakers CDA Provincial Coop Development Specialist Rowena Fruto, Provincial Development Officer Dr. Emmanuel Santiaguel, CDA Regional Director Nonie Hernandez and Cooperative Union of Cavite Chairman Gilchor Cubillo, trade fairs and exhibit, health awareness seminar conducted by UNIMED Health Services Cooperative and recognition of participating government agencies, NGOs, and others entities that support the promotion of cooperativism in the province.Awarding of cooperatives in various categories was also successfully done in the afternoon of October 5.

The winners in the “Dagdag Miyembro, Dagdag Premyo “ Program were Bagong Silang MPC, DLSU-D Faculty Dev’t Coop, Imus Metro Credit Coop, Gen. Trias Municipal Employees MPCO, and CBC Mabuhay Credit and Printing Coop;  Jobs4 All  Multi-Purpose Cooperative was chosen as the Most Promising Cooperative;  Parishioners Multi-Purpose Cooperative was awarded the Most Diversified Cooperative and Best Management Team;   Multi-Options Multi-Purpose Cooperative as Most Profitable Cooperative, Silang Municipal Employees and Community MPC as Best in Capital Build-up and Kasama Ka Multi-Purpose Cooperative as Best in Assets. The Imus, Carmona and Dasmarinas Municipal Cooperative Development Councils on the other hand, were  awarded as 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers respectively for the  Best Cooperative Council Category. On, the individual leadership category, Outstanding cooperative leaders chosen are Dr. Oscar J. Tayko as Outstanding Coop Elder and Carmona Mayor Roy Loyola as Outstanding Mayor on Cooperative Development.  Likewise, for leading the advocacy on cooperativism which resulted into Cavite’s recognition as the Cooperative Province of the Philippines having gained   P2.019 billion cooperative assets, P3.293 billion volume of transactions and 66,916 active members. Gov. Maliksi was also given the Icon of Cooperation award.
