5th Cavite Arbor Day


  Conservation and Rehabilitation of Cavite Streambanks Continues on 5th Cavite Arbor Day. The Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office under the supervision of Engr. Rolinio P. Pozas once again spearheaded the conservation and rehabilitation of the Labac – Alemang watershed thru a tree planting activity in Brgy. Asis II and Brgy. Galicia I in Mendez, Cavite on October 28, 2016. A memorandum of Agreement was signed between the provincial government and the local government of Mendez represented by Mayor Frederick A. Vida with Brgy. Captain Jose R. Reyes (Galicia I) and Brgy. Captain Camilo Vida (Asis II) for the conservation of the streambanks for a period of 17 months.

   Environment volunteers from the Philippines Annual Conference Cavite, Kiwanis Club of Mendez, Cavite State University faculty and students, PGC employees, municipal government employees, Cavite Association of the Municipal/City Sanggunian Secretaries and the Empress of Cavite candidates were able to plant 650 seedlings comprised of irok and fruit bearing trees from the provincial nursery and CvSU. Engr. Efren C. Nazareno, Provincial Administrator for External Affairs, delivered his message on behalf of the governor. Other guests present in the program were Vice-mayor Cocoy Mendoza with the Sangguniang Bayan Members and Ms. Michelle Alcid, Provincial Board Secretary.
