PSWDO launches programs for underprivileged Cavitenos


     In its commitment to promote the rights and welfare of the poor and underprivileged Cavitenos, the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development continues its undertaking on improving the quality of life of the people of Cavite. As proof of its passionate concern on its constituents, the provincial government thru PSWDO has initiated efforts in bringing employment opportunities through the provision of skills and development training. The program was prepared and was brought to the community or was facilitated thru center based training that accommodates women, out of school youths and other marginalized individuals. 

     At present, PSWDO is conducting a center based training on sewing craft at the second floor of the provincial gymnasium in Trece Martires City. Sewing craft is a 20 day training wherein the trainees will be educated on the different aspects of sewing. After the training, learners will be endorsed to different garment factories located in the province of Cavite. The training materials are free and will be provided by the center. 

     Likewise, another program that was being pressed is the integrated food processing, non-food and bread and pastry. It is a three day training seminar which comprise of orientation of the different programs and services, lectures on health and nutrition, actual training, and return demonstration. Certificates were distributed to trainees after the completion of the training period. PSWDO remains persistent on encouraging the support of various LGUs, NGOs and other private stakeholders on information dissemination of the programs and projects of their organization. (PICAD)

Recipients of the award also received one million pesos each from the DILG’s Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).
