Young Caviteños struggling to finish their college education and parents who are working hard to pay for their children’s schooling were given hope by the Provincial Government of Cavite under Governor Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla during the distribution of Educational Assistance intended for the second semester of school year 2016-2017 on March 13, 2017 at the Provincial Gymnasium, Trece Martires City.
A total amount of P3,340,000.00 was distributed to 668 beneficiaries with each student receiving P5,000.00
Former Gen. Aguinaldo Vice Mayor Ben Golfo, now acting Vice Chairman of the Provincial Scholarship Program (PSP) challenged the beneficiaries in his welcome remarks to aim high to be able to fulfill their dreams. Mr. Alvin S. Mojica, PSP Chairman, likewise inspired the students by calling them “the best among the best” since out of seven thousand online scholarship applicants, only 668 were chosen. He also thanked PSWDO, Provincial Treasurer’s Office, the PSP Secretariat, COPS and PICAD for giving support to the said event.
Mr. Louie Rolle, Executive Assistant to the Governor narrated that he was also once a scholar of then Governor Johnny Remulla. After finishing his studies, he paid back by working for the Provincial Government, for the three Remulla Governors and Congressman Gilbert Remulla. Lastly, he asked the scholars to use their talents to be respected members of the community and to uplift the standard of living not only for themselves but their whole family as well. (PICAD)
