As part of the flood control and climate change mitigating measures, the City Government of Bacoor led by Mayor Lani Revilla partnered with the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) headed by Engr. Rolinio Pozas, and Congressman Strike Revilla in dredging and clearing identified waterways in the City of Bacoor.
The first phase of dredging and clearing operation was done in Brgy. Salinas 3 and 4 on January 3, 2017 covering Hawaii River going to Zapote River and all the way to Bacoor Bay. It will be connected to Barangays Panapaan 3 and 4 and Barangay Habay 1. A manual clearing operation was done simultaneously in Barangays Aniban 1 and Zapote 2.
After the operations, the barangays agreed to install waste trap in their boundaries.
Partner organizations in the said project are MMDA, Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Information and Community Affairs Department (PICAD), PENRO Cavite, Water Quality Management Area (WQMA) – DENR Region 4-A, DPWH Bacoor District, CENRO, PIO and the local barangays.(PICAD)
