Independence Day Celebration 2013

   This year, the Provincial Government of Cavite throught its Tourism Development Office once again lead the Independence Day Activities from May 28 to June 17, 2013 in line with the 115th Philippine Independence Day Celebration. These are the following:

May 28

BATTLE OF ALAPAN COMMEMORATION AND NATIONAL FLAG DAY
An annual celebration of one of the most significant battles that took place in Cavite during the
the Philippine Revolution against Spanish forces. It was also in Alapan, Imus where the Philippine
Flag was first waived.

Venue: Alapan Elementary School, Imus City 

June  3 onwards

"EL PRESIDENTE" Special Screening
Special screening of the movie "El Presidente" exclusive for students and teachers.

Venue: SM Cinemas in Cavite

June 6-7 

HISTORICAL SEMINAR
A seminar for tourism students to learn and appreciate the rich history of Cavite while exploring
its famous historical sites.

Venue: Aguinaldo Shrine, Kawit

June 5 onwards 

CAVITE HISTORICAL EXHIBIT
A photo exhibit og old houses and churches that depicts the historical, cultural and archtectural
aspects of Cavite.

Launching: June 5 at SM Dasmariñas

             SM Rosario July 8 to 13

June 9 

"HIMIG KALAYAAN" Classical Music Concert
A showcase of Caviteño talents in one musical night.

Time: 5:00 PM

Venue: Aguinaldo Shrine, Kawit

June 12 

"CAVITE FOOD AND TRADE FAIR"
A 1 day exhibit and selling of products proudly made by Cavite MSMEs.

Venue: Freedom Park, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine, Kawit

June 12 

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
     -   Highlight will be the morning flag raising ceremony, wreath laying at Aguinaldo Tomb.
     -   5:00 AM parade lead by LGU Kawit
     -   Half day celebration, Concert and Fireworks
     -   LGU Kawit

June 17 

"EATS MORE FUN IN CAVITE" Cooking Competition
A culinary competition exclusive for HRM and Culinary students from various colleges and
university in the province intended to create awareness of Cavite's potential of Cavite for
Culinary Tourism.

Venue: Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park, Kawit

Recipients of the award also received one million pesos each from the DILG’s Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).

    Cavite was also hailed as one of the Regional Gawad Pamana ng Lahi 2011 Awardee – Provincial Category.  Exemplary performance information is drawn from the database of the on-line LGPMS, Seal of Good Housekeeping, International Organization or National Government Agency-bestowed awards and acknowledged innovations.
